Prolix Letters

Tomorrow I begin looking for a replacement offline source of my learning journey.  With my resignation from the college tomorrow becomes Day 1 of that New Learning Journey.  I can therefore count today as being Day Zero. 

The hive that was called Success Masters will now be called "Prolix Letters".  This will enable me to cull old emails to repurpose content.  I know some 70% of emails are never opened and the 1/3rd that do, they are just often a cursory glance in a world where message culture has gone O.T.T.  We don't have time to formulate thoughts, only to react and ensure we say only the minimal necessary.  I tend to think out aloud and so I do not shy away from fully formed thoughts or even streams of consciousness.   Only where business email is concerned do I observe email etiquette because there is an understanding where time is money, money is time.

For other non-income purposes I like to add context which simply reminds me how I arrived or what was linked to an particular idea expressed at a certain time.  Add to that my natural habit of thinking out aloud, what gets produced in the email trail is a rich source of repurposable content or at least snippets of ideas that maybe now worth expanding on.  We don't think of email as a resource for content creation but for me it provides both a timeline of thinking and sources of spontaneous thinking that can now be curated.

Hence this hive is now renamed "Prolix Letters" -  the idea here is not to write prolix letters but to draw from one's previously emailed or even written (though I don't remember handwriting a letter for years - not in the age of easy send digital tools).  First I must establish a new arena for my offline learning journey and that may come as early as Monday - but I will wait and see.
