The Paradox Pyramid

What was the Wisdom Pyramid that I used at LinkedIn has now been transformed into The Paradox Pyramid that I will utilize in this hive at BeBee.  The net union is noted as the Paradox Wisdom hive, which is complimentary to my Renaissance Hive - both using emergent development but with very different purposes and emergence's.

The 55th Amendment is to his learning journey, with the 54 prior amendments occurring within in the LinkedIn platform.  Learning Journey 55 is not associated with the amendment but represents my chronological age.   Next year on my birthday, I will begin Learning Journey 56.  Whether it is Spectraneuron or The Paradox Pyramid - these are conceptions for my own learning and development and not meant to be a model or a template for mass consumption.

The original conception of the pyramid was inspired by basketball legend and leadership guru John Wooden's Pyramid of Leadership.  I have his book and I recognize how his pyramid developed from his experiences coaching college basketball teams, but more importantly instilling values into his players that transcend basketball and meet life purpose head on.

I still have great affection for the Leadership Pyramid of John Wooden but it fits one part of Renaissance which is Green Wisdom.  I also realized that just as he could create these experiences and transform them into a hierarchical representation, I could do the same thing by assessing my attention and creating a hierarchical representation of what I focus upon. 

This means that at anytime the Pyramid (like Spectraneuron) will evolve and change.  People put too much stock into images and symbols rather than the life and truth those symbols originally represented.  We are largely a society that is driven by commercial idolatry and the worship of things and people.  That is not what the future calls for - a 21st Century future.

We stand at the crossroads where our technological systems are capable of recording an entire lifetime and where history which is always revised becomes a continuous datapoint, data which hopefully we can finally start learning from.  That history repeats itself and we keep making the same basic mistakes of our ancestors is our failure to treat history as insight and instead create mythologies instead of historical insight. 

Our view of the future is equally not grounded in insight but continues to be grounded in ideologies and dogma - a vision imprisoned by a particular philosophy, rather than philosophical insight that explores without philosophical judgement and then we do that same thing with politics, creating political divisions about my belief vs. your belief.  That is the past talking back to us, dragging us back always to the dark ages rather than out of the cave towards the present.  This is well documented by the allegory of Plato's Cave.  Emergence is about emerging from these caves we have either been conditioned to or ascribe to - we emerge best to the present moment - not with our heads filled with thought but with fresh mind and heart.

My major deployment of the Paradox Wisdom was below the line (comments) rather than above the line (buzz, posts).  For many years I blogged in other people's blogs using the Disqus comment system and then at LinkedIn using the Wisdom Pyramid to classify my thinking AFTER I had thought them.  That is what led to 54 amendments because with each thought, the hierarchy and form of the pyramid changed - which is a lot like life really - and as I begin to lose my hair, maybe I need to update my 2014 photo I use for CityVP - for me these changes are a way of being and defined as another form of emergence.
