Think back
Think back to a happy time a really, really happy time in your life. Go back as far as it takes, to a time when you felt so light you thought you might float.
I have many of these times in my memory, each with a different focus. I am sure you have as well. Have you noticed that when we sit down with old friends that we have not seen for a while, we cast back very quickly to the times that we shared and embraced together? In the last two or three weeks, I have had contacts with old friends that were very unexpected and fun. I was doing a workshop for a group of retiree's in Vancouver and at the break, a lady came up to me and asked if I had graduated from (she named my high school) I said "yes in 1965" she said so did I, and then asked me if I was at the 50th reunion in 2015? I was and so was she, but we had not connected there, so we talked about our time together at high school, which for the most part was a very happy time.
I was at a workshop today on "Seniors and Technology". It was a small workshop and the organizer had everyone go around the room to introduce themselves. I introduced myself and listened as the others did the same. The last woman introduced herself and then said to me "Royce, my name used to be......, and we went to University together and we were part of the same "coffee group", and I have been wondering about you for a couple of years."
I said we would talk at the end of the workshop. Unfortunately, the workshop went long and I had to leave as I was scheduled to present another workshop. I did not get a chance to catch up, but I do remember the "coffee group", we were a relaxed group that had stimulating and fun conversations and great ideas and it was another very happy time in my life.
I had another person from high school email me, just to say that I was looking good--by that, they were referring to my picture on this site. Memories are chasing me and forcing me to remember some very happy times. Do you remember your happy times? The carefree feeling? The acceptance of the moment, of yourself, of life? Feeling unfettered by thoughts of the future and oblivious to the past?
Feel it a little longer...
There. Very nice.
