    Description
    If so, consider this exceptional full-time opportunity with Transportation Services.
    As a Transportation Engineering Coordinator, you will:
    # Coordinate the review, evaluation and response to transit infrastructure design submissions, development applications, and proposals for temporary and permanent road closures from infrastructure construction and design purposes.
    # Represent the Division at stakeholder meetings, committees of Council, public meetings, and other meetings to achieve City and Divisional policy objectives.
    # Provide work direction, coordinate, and assign work to Engineering Technologists.
    # Formulate recommendations on mitigation measures for operational impact of major projects such as development proposals, capital works projects, and road closures on the municipal road network.
    # Ensure that the municipal road network will accommodate the vehicle, cycling, and pedestrian traffic generated by development proposals and review the design of mitigating measures and streetscape elements.

    Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related discipline from a recognized University, Technical College, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    # Considerable experience in Transportation Planning and/or Engineering.
    # Considerable experience in analyzing and interpreting the results of various transportation studies (such as Engineering drawings, Traffic Impact Studies, Parking Studies, and Transportation Corridor Studies etc.).
    # Experience in statistical or other related analyses in traffic and/or transportation matters.

    Knowledge of the planning and development control processes and municipal administration and procedures.
    Knowledge of computer applications (e.g. MS Office Suite), including the use of specialized software (i.e.

    Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization, including the political level.

    A thorough understanding of traffic impact analysis, with the ability to make recommendations on related development control matters and in the preparation of complex transportation planning studies.

    Ability to represent the Division at community meetings, various committees, and Community Council.
    Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing.
