Position Summary

The Limestone District School Board is seeking part time FSL Contract (permanent) teachers.

Teachers play an important role in providing ongoing instruction and learning for our students.

This is an excellent learning experience that supports progression to full-time contract positions with the Board.

Situated in historic Kingston, on the shores of scenic Lake Ontario, the Limestone District School Board serves more than 19,000 students in 55 schools and 5 alternative education centres, covering a geographic area of 7,719 square kilometres across the City of Kingston, the Townships of Central Frontenac, North Frontenac, South Frontenac, Addington Highlands, Loyalist, Stone Mills, the Frontenac Islands and the Town of Greater Napanee.

Qualifications,

Knowledge and Experience

OCT certificate with FSL qualification (those fluent in French without FSL may be considered and are encouraged to apply)

Knowledge of and experience delivering Ontario Curriculum

Experience working with special education students, including differentiated instruction, developing/implementing programming modifications and accommodations

Experience developing and implementing Individual Education Plans to guide programming

Knowledge/experience with a variety of assessment techniques

Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills

Strong classroom management skills.

A passion for teaching and learning

A commitment to student learning and engagement

A commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive pedagogy

Strong planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills
