    Description

    Job Summary

    The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with the facilitation of youth programs, assisting with registration, pre/post program preparations and helping to build connections with youth participants.

    Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or 2-3 years related experience in a community setting
  • Related experience in a community setting and community programs.
  • Experience working with children and youth in a community setting is a strong asset
  • Experience working with diverse communities, and knowledge of related community resources
  • Fluency in English essential, fluency in other languages also desirable
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications
  • Valid First Aid and CPR (level C) required to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check required

    • Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing community-based youth programs as assigned
  • Provide information about community resources to community members
  • Perform administrative duties related to the programs as delegated
  • Participate as an active team member in staff meetings
  • Support Community Workers, Student Parent Support Workers, Program Facilitators and volunteers
  • Assist with the operation of evening and afterschool programming as appropriate
  • Other related duties as assigned
