- In consultation with the Director, DTO , plans, implements, and manages the university's cybersecurity strategy, guided by developed cybersecurity frameworks, programs, plans. critical security controls and the National Cybersecurity Assessment ( NCA ) framework.
- Establishes cybersecurity governance to safeguard the university digital solutions and IT infrastructure against cyber threats, intrusions, and vulnerabilities.
- Works with DTS leadership members to develop and maintain all DTS policies, guidelines, and procedures specifically relating to cybersecurity for all digital solutions and technologies to adhere to.
- Oversees, monitors and reports on an extensive annual university-wide cybersecurity awareness campaign, including phishing awareness and cybersecurity awareness workshops.
- Manages role based specific cybersecurity training, monitors, and reports compliance to cybersecurity training across the university community.
- Leads and coordinates an appropriate level of response to cybersecurity alerts and incidents, including the implementation and review of a cybersecurity incident response plan.
- Identifies and selects appropriate cybersecurity monitoring tools to ensure no gaps exist in security management across the digital ecosystem.
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience, with 3 years in a recent leadership role with direct responsibility for cybersecurity strategy and operations, preferably in a public sector environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a cybersecurity program.
- Industry relevant designations such as CISSP , CISA , CRISC , ITIL , TOGAF .
- Experience with the ITIL framework and ITSM best practices, tools, and techniques; ITIL certification is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of security risk management practices including security architecture, vulnerability and patch management, identity access management, cloud security, and privacy.
- Broad technical knowledge relating to cybersecurity practices, including patching, firewalls, network configurations, phishing, and software deployment and imaging systems.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating and presenting cybersecurity strategies and solutions to varies levels within an organization.
- Demonstrated experience in developing reports that provide information about an organization's cybersecurity position to a mix of technical and management positions.

What you'll do
Reporting to the Director, Digital Transformation Office ( DTO ) and Cybersecurity, and a part of the Associate Vice President ( AVP ) DTS leadership team, the Senior Manager, Central Cybersecurity Services leads the centralized Cybersecurity team and programs that provides security governance, digital security services including security auditing and assessments, identity management services and DTS policy development for digital solutions across the university.
This role will have the opportunity to influence and drive lasting efforts in the University's digital transformation, with significant student and employee impact through the planning, implementation and management of a cybersecurity strategy and procedures. In close alignment with university wide strategy, critical components of this position includes: oversight of the Cybersecurity strategy, Cybersecurity governance framework, risk management framework, vulnerability management program, Cybersecurity protection, Cybersecurity access controls, Cybersecurity detection and incident response plan; and operational management of cybersecurity services. The role requires a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships both across the CapU community and externally with sector colleagues and vendors.
Days and Hours of Work
Our standard work week is Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm. This position may include evenings, weekends and non-standard work weeks.

This position has a salary range of $101,172 (minimum) to $134,896 (midpoint) to $155,130 (maximum) per annum. Employment offers will typically be made between the minimum and midpoint of the range and are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
