What you will be doing

Designs, develops, and integrates regulations, standards, operational policies and other regulatory and non-regulatory instruments that govern commercial flight operations, contributing to the continuous improvement of the Canadian legislative and regulatory framework.

Assesses a wide range of emerging technologies, safety problems and issues as they relate to commercial air operations.

Participates in cooperative activities with foreign civil aviation authorities and international bodies to assess new technologies and methodologies, to identify new regulatory requirements, to harmonize regulations and legislation, and to contribute to the development of international agreements and standards.

Designs and develops technical publications and reference material to provide clients, stakeholder organizations and the public with current aviation information as it relates to assigned specialized areas within commercial flight operations.

Provides expert technical advice, support, and recommendations to management on the handling of functional, cross-functional, high profile, sensitive and complex issues or problems emanating within and outside the government and affecting program delivery and the regulatory review process.

Maintains professional pilot currency.
