Assessment accommodation


Starting April 1, 2023, all federal employees will be required to work from a Government of Canada workplace at least two to three times per week, or 40% to 60% of their regular schedule.

At Transport Canada (TC), this means we work at a worksite at least eight days during a four-week period.

Worksites include, but are not limited to, spaces such as TC approved worksites and collaborative spaces; Locations where TC inspectors conduct their work inspections or locations of stakeholder activities and meetings as well as Government of Canada touchdown and collaborative spaces.


Duties:


KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Provides support to the technical teams for all phases of oversight activities such as research, logístical arrangements for meetings, teleconferences and workshops, and preparation of decision records / action registers and other documents, amongst others.
  • Gathers and enters data into databases, verifies accuracy and generates reports and documents.
  • Files documents and keeps records in accordance with central agency and departmental directives and guidelines.
  • Responds to inquiries from internal and external clients, and/or redirects inquiries to the appropriate source.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training to work colleagues on processes, systems and procedures to support the technical team.

EDUCATION

  • Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Degree equivalency


EXPERIENCES

  • Recent and significant experience* providing administrative support services in an office environment for a team or a manager in at least two of the following tasks: receiving, opening, assigning, tracking and filing files, data entry, tracking requests, preparing correspondence.
  • Experience providing financial or accounting support services and coordinating training files.
  • Experience in providing service and administrative support to a mostly internal or written clientele.
  • Recent and significant experience: one year experience acquired over the past five years.

ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally.
  • Ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines.

EDUCATION

  • Diploma of collegial studies (DCS) or Attestation of collegial studies (ACS) or Diploma of vocational studies (DVS) in the field of administration or office automation/technology.

EXPERIENCES

  • Experience in air transportation and/or a related field.
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, One note, PDF.
  • Experience using computer system such as CCM Enterprise, RIDMS, GC Docs, Oracle, Peoplesoft.
  • Experience coordinating Access to Information and Privacy requests.
  • Experience in business travel support services such as making travel arrangements, preparing itineraries, and processing travel claims.
  • Experience organizing meetings.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some positions may require the willingness to work overtime occasionally and on short notice, to work weekends and/or to travel.
