Corporate Supply Chain Manager
CMP Group Ltd.

(CMP) is a global manufacturing company with 6 manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout Canada, the United States, Italy, Australia, and China.

CMP supplies the recreational and commercial marine industries with a broad range of products for various industry segments, including anchoring & ground tackle, corrosion, dock & boat accessories, and steering & controls.

CMP manufactures and distributes products under the brands, Martyr, Rocna, Vulcan, Titan, Panther, Dock Edge, Octopus, Intellisteer, Sanitation Equipment and, Trollmaster.


The Corporate Supply Chain Manager is responsible to procure materials, monitor on time delivery, and purchase supplies as required for all NA sites.

Other areas of responsibility include price and payment term negotiation, inbound logistics management support, mentoring Jia Da and CMP-Europe purchasing activities; source and identify vendors for assigned projects.

They are also responsible for the execution of the Supply Chain Strategic Plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Continuous Improvement:


  • Develop/Assist continuous improvement in purchasing process including vendor performance management system.
  • Improve internal and external customer experience with ontime delivery of parts for manufacturing and sale.

Purchasing:


  • Issue purchase orders in accordance with the company specifications and maintain records of all materials purchased
  • Lead and manage S&OP process for all products
  • Process all transactions per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Maintain forecasts and data collection for John Galt Forecasting and Demand Planning from stakeholders through quarterly S&OP meetings.
  • Update lead time and pricing in the ERP system for uploading into John Galt.
  • Monitor vendor performance; order fulfillment, and expedites on late or rush orders as necessary.
  • Liaises with Accounts Payable to ensure the timely approval and payment of supplier invoices.
  • Manage Vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships including pricing, terms, lead times, and quality adherence.
  • Assists Sales, Manufacturing and New Product Development with the sourcing of material for assigned projects.
  • Manage cost reductions through price and term negotiation with suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Sourcing Manager to reduce costs on raw material and all other components required to fulfill demand.

Logistics:


  • Approve, track inbound shipments for land freight; communicate with internal stakeholders on shipping status incoming product by LTL, FTL and intermodal.
  • Work closely with the Logistics Coordinator to establish shipping dates for ocean shipments enabling the Logistics Manager ability to book shipments as required to meet demand plan
  • Collaborate and Support Warehouse Managers with outbound logistics including IBT's to other CMP sites.

Receiving:


  • Monitor receiving and transferring of Jia Da shipments to "On Water" and "Ins" warehouses.
  • Process transactions per the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Update intransit shipments status as required.
  • Update HS codes report as required.
  • Manage supply of materials with respect to ongoing tariff charges to and from all Delta.

Inventory control:


  • Manage Inventory levels on the basis of turns, service levels, safety stock, fill rates, inventory categories, etc.
  • Participate in the annual Physical Inventory Process.
  • Work closely and effectively with the W/H Managers managing excess inventory

Safety:


  • Promote safe work practices as outlined in the Worksafe B.C. regulations including PPE.

Quality:


  • Comply with all relative Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor and handle claims for defects, shortages and missing parts.
  • Qualify new vendors as required via external audits and other means.
  • Generate SOP's as required.
  • Review all SOP's annually.
  • Initiate and follow up on Vendor Quality Reports.
  • Participate in the Quality Report Meetings.
  • Closes all assigned Quality Reports in a timely manner.

Team building:


  • Participate in 1X1 meetings with COO and conduct 1 x 1 meetings with Direct Reports.
  • Hold regular meetings with Group Purchasing Managers to coordinate supplier strategy and relationship management (CMP-Vaughan, Suffolk, JiaDa, Seaguard, AMS) with focus on Vaughan and Suffolk.
  • Participate inSupply Chain related meetings.
