Position Summary:_
Accurately and efficiently selects Gordon Food Service (GFS) products for customer orders. Following designated pick lists, selects items from the correct warehouse location (selection slots), properly labels, and places on pallet, conveyor belt, or in designated area for shipping, depending on type of warehouse (manual facility or mechanized facility). May work across functional areas as needed.

Essential Functions:_

Selecting products from inventory according to a predetermined sequence based on a customer order.
Retrieve product from pick location by manually lifting products that range approximately from 1lb to 90lbs. On average the weight of a case is 25lbs30lbs.
Affix product label appropriately on product then place it on pallet(s) in an organized fashion.
Shrink wrap completed orders securely then transporting to the staging and loading area.
Remove empty pallet(s) from pick locations and place in designated areas.
Use automated material handling equipment to move products on pallets throughout the warehouse.
Select approximately 1,000 1,500 cases per shift.
Adhere to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
Adhere to food safety GMP's as per Gordon Food Service Distribution Centre Food Safety program
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:_
Exposure to three (3) different temperature zones within the warehouse.
Grocery area in the warehouse is room temperature; varies from cold in the winter and warm in the summer.
Cooler area in the warehouse is approximately 1 or 2 degrees C.
Freezer area in the warehouse is approximately 15 degrees C. Some areas of the freezer can get as low as 23 degrees C.
Moderate noise level.
Must bend, lift and carry cases, approximately 1,000 to 1,500 per shift.
Must be able to lift up to 90lbs, however average lifting weight between 25lbs 30lbs.
Repetitive motion from lifting and strain.
Will regularly be required to stand, walk, lift above and below shoulder levels, and go up to heights of 40 ft using equipment with a harness.
Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and grasp products.
Required to have a high degree of concentration and alertness.
