    Description

    The Diocese of Niagara is in search of a full-time Treasurer and Director of Finance to oversee its financial operations and affiliated entities. As a key member of the team, this role involves managing assets, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance, underpinning the vision and direction set by the bishop and Synod.

    With an annual budget of nearly $4 million and substantial investments to support its mission across various regions, the Treasurer and Director of Finance play a vital role in the financial sustainability of the diocese.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and manage all financial activities and resources, ensuring compliance and safeguarding assets.
    • Lead and oversee the finance team, providing guidance and support.
    • Manage services such as insurance, investments, payroll, and IT.
    • Monitor investment performance and collaborate with advisors.
    • Engage with church leaders to share financial best practices.
    • Support volunteer boards and committees with financial advice.
    • Present financial reports to stakeholders.
    • Act as a signing officer for the diocese.

    Qualifications:

    • CPA designation with 7+ years of experience.
    • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in financial management and working with accounting systems.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines efficiently.
    • Passionate about the ministry of the diocese and the Anglican Church of Canada.
    • Clear Police Record Check.
