    As a member of the Human Resources Operations Advisor team, you will provide exceptional service to Human Resource Consultants and the Institute's 2800+ staff members. Your strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with your ability to perform multiple tasks and problem solve, will allow you to excel in this role.

    Key Responsibilities:


    1. Respond to inquiries from new and existing staff and provide appropriate guidance, information, and advice regarding HR practices and policies, collective agreements, benefits and compensation packages, and general HR information in a timely manner.
    2. Meet with all new employees in your portfolio to perform employee documentation and NAIT general orientation.
    3. Maintain documentation and communication materials.
    4. Provide assistance and direction to line managers, department heads, and supervisors in the completion of HR processes and forms.
    5. Work within the terms of the Institute's two collective agreements (AUPE and NASA) and Management and Excluded procedures to provide appropriate information and guidance to staff regarding a wide variety of human resource issues.
    6. Use the PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System to record new hires, manage employee data changes and recruitment, as well as classification, evaluation, and attendance functions.
    7. Manage and process absences of the employees within your portfolio.
    8. Perform and utilize various audits and reporting to ensure data integrity for all employee information. Strong attention to detail is required.
    9. Contribute your insights, ideas, and perspectives as you actively participate in team meetings, committees, working groups, and projects.
    10. Other duties as assigned.

    Skills & Abilities:


    Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and previous experience using a large-scale ERP HRMS system (preference given to those with PeopleSoft HCM experience). Knowledge of Human Resources practices. Prior experience in a unionized and/or post-secondary educational environment is an asset.

    Qualifications:


    Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field. Minimum of two years experience in a Human Resources environment. Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
