    Job Opportunity:

    Come join the leadership team at Manulife Bank to improve the lives of Canadians by helping them save time and money with their banking needs. We are in search of a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the role of VP, Technology at Manulife Bank.

    As the VP, Technology, you will report to the CIO/COO of the Canada Segment and closely collaborate with the CEO of Manulife Bank. In this strategic position, you will drive the development and execution of technology strategies and roadmaps to align with the overall business strategy and goal of becoming a digital customer leader. Your responsibilities will include leading a top-tier technology team, steering technology thought leadership, managing financial resources, and ensuring compliance with necessary OFSI regulations.

    We are looking for a leader who excels in driving change and delivering measurable results. The ideal candidate will be a transparent and collaborative leader, capable of effectively communicating a vision and inspiring individuals to work towards common objectives. This role necessitates a highly visible leader who can foster collaboration across the organization, build trust and successful partnerships, and establish an efficient organization supporting agile development/delivery.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Strategic Technology Development:

  • Lead the development, testing, and implementation of large-scale technology solutions that deliver value to customers and align with the Manulife Bank's business goals.
  • Align technology strategies with the rapidly changing competitive landscape within the industry.
  • Efficiently deploy business applications while adhering to global standards and business unit-specific technology indicators.
  • Ensure safe and secure delivery of self-serve technology solutions, mitigating technical debt and reducing organizational risk.
  • Act as a technology thought leader, fostering relationships throughout the organization to identify beneficial technical practices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver enterprise-grade solutions swiftly and effectively.

    • Operations and Compliance:

  • Oversee all aspects of technology for Manulife Bank.
  • Ensure the delivery of a stable processing platform that meets business service level requirements, including platform modernization as needed.
  • Ensure compliance of platform components and applications within regulatory frameworks for respective business functions.
  • Work closely with key risk stakeholders to ensure solutions align with industry risk practices.
  • Adhere to global standards, compliance, and information risk management requirements.
  • Establish operating and investment budgets consistent with Manulife Bank's financial goals.

    • People Leadership:

  • Cultivate a culture focused on profitable growth and customer-centricity.
  • Inspire, coach, and guide employees to achieve top engagement scores.
  • Manage performance, provide feedback, and establish accountabilities and performance standards.
  • Develop talent capability through career discussions and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation, encouraging employees to generate ideas and create value for customers.

    • What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of leadership experience in technology strategy execution.
  • Previous experience leading high-performing teams within Digital Banking to optimize customer experience.
  • Demonstrated success in leading transformative changes in a regulated, growth-focused environment.
  • Ability to develop and implement technology strategies to drive business goals.
  • Strong portfolio and project management skills, including cross-functional project delivery.
  • Experience in agile methodologies, digital technologies, and regulatory environments.
  • Exposure to fintech partnerships and legacy systems.

    Salary & Benefits:

    The base salary for this role falls within the range of $171,200.00 CAD to $317,700.00 CAD, offering incentive programs tied to business and individual performance. Manulife provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, retirement savings plans, and paid time off.
