Junior Information Analyst Co-op:

Open to students registered in a recognized co-op program only

Duration:Spring 2024 (May August 2024; 4 months)

Location:Victoria (our office is situated on the Selkirk Waterfront on the Gorge Inlet. Enjoy stunning views of downtown Victoria and the Olympic mountains and take advantage of the nearby Galloping Goose Regional Trail for walking and biking).

Salary: $1,819.12 bi-weekly (for students working towards a diploma or bachelor's degree) or $2, for students working towards a post-graduate degree)

Grant:As part of our inVESTED scholarship program, you may be eligible for reimbursement up to a maximum of $1,000 per four-month work term to cover the cost of co-op work term tuition fees.

The Job Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the organization, analysis, and synthesis of branch information.
  • Assist in the documentation and updating of branch processes, procedures, and tasks.
  • Assist in migrating and organizing branch information and communications product archives into Teams Workspaces and SharePoint sites and add relevant metadata.
  • Assist in translating business processes into technical specifications, workflow, or systems diagrams.
  • Provide technical support to the branch for SharePoint, Power BI and MS Teams tasks.
  • Support the branch in the development of change management communications materials.

Requirements:


This opportunity is available to undergraduate students studying in areas such as Library and Information Studies, Health Information Science, Business, Communications or related fields.

Knowledge and/or experience in the following areas would be an asset:

  • Experience working as part of a project team (at work or school).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, and work independently.
  • Demonstrates analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Experience in planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Previous work experience in information, records, and/or knowledge management.
  • Selfmotivated and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a team environment.
  • Successful completion of coursework in relevant topics (e.g. Business Analysis, Database Design, Information and Technology Management, Health Information Science, etc.).
