Material Handler
Working under general supervision, move materials to various areas inside and outside the facility using powered fork lift truck. Pick-up and deliver items between the Norwich and Salford plant as required. Control material movement. Load and unload trucks or freight vehicles. Transport material between departments while ensuring proper routing of material is maintained. May be required to perform other activities including picking orders, taking inventory, shipping and receiving. Fully trained to facilitate receipt, storage and dispatch of packaged inventory.

Key Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility's geographic location and:
- The Global Operating System Plays;
- OHSAS 18001: Health and Safety management system standard;
- ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standard;
- TS 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards.
- Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar's Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
- Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar's Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
- Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
- Maintain department 5S requirements.
- Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment
- Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking.
- Pickup and deliver items between Norwich and Salford plant as required
- Operate winches and other loading devices to load and unload materials onto and off trucks.
- Operate a tow motor in a safe manner, both loading and unloading freight.
- Perform tow motor inspection.
- Keep all manufacturing and shipping/receiving areas organized.
- Empty chip bins into proper containers.
- May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials.
Minimum Requirements
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
- Licensed to Operate a tow motor and propane
- G class License
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
