- Be responsible for the decision-making and day-to-day management of the Consortium.
- Provide strategic input to the SD, and oversight of the Consortium development and operations.
- Develop strategic plans for the Consortium for and with the SD.
- Develop international partnership strategies and policies, such as an Open Science policy.
- Oversee national research themes as mandated by CIHR.
- Develop the network by fostering thematic and strategic connections between CCNA affiliates (researchers, partners, etc.)
- Work closely with communications staff to create and distribute outward communications to CCNA affiliates, partners, and other stakeholders, by sharing key information on CCNA's activities and impact, funding opportunities or other relevant information.
- Work with the communications and knowledge mobilization staff to develop and distribute internal communications.
- Chair meetings with the Canadian Institute of Health Research, provincial and federal government agencies, both nationally and internationally.
- Contribute to policy development with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communications with CCNA's International Scientific Advisory Board, CCNA's new Advisory Council, and other CCNA committees.
- Oversee the production of all necessary progress reports by staff and ensure respect of deadlines and high quality of materials.
- Develop set of metrics to measure CCNA's impact across the field of dementia research in Canada and internationally.
- Develop new or amend existing policies for CCNA's operations.
- Oversee the organization of the annual CCNA scientific meeting and annual CCNA
- Oversee CCNA budget planning —with a budget of $45M in Phase II ; with a no-cost extension until 2026), and $25M in Phase III ; with additional funding to come)— expenses and financial reporting with the Baycrest Finance Officer.
- Ensure that all expenses meet the funders' guidelines.
- Oversee contracts and subsequent amendments of contracts with the Contract Specialist at Baycrest.
- Hire, manage, and train staff.
- Fulfill other relevant tasks to the position as they become apparent.
- Masters in Health Administration or related field is required
- 7-10 years in a senior management role, or with other relevant experience in research in neuroscience is required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management and proven ability to align work priorities and realize strategic goals
- Clinical Research Certification Preferred
- Experience with budget, procurement, and people management abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders (staff, partners, faculty, students, people with lived experience of dementia, etc.), often in time-constrained, sensitive situations
- Demonstrated ability to create a positive work environment, to be collaborative, relationship-focused and able to connect with, engage, and empower employees with nuance and empathy while maintaining CCNA's existing supportive and collegial culture.

Baycrest is home to the scientific headquarters of the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA), which brings together over 300 researchers from across the country to work toward improving the prevention, detection and treatment of dementia, and enhancing the quality of life of people living with dementia and their caregivers. The Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) is led by Baycrest Senior Scientist, Dr. Howard Chertkow. The Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) was established in 2014 through a grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in partnership with non-profit, pharma, provincial and private funding partners with the goal of catalyzing collaborative research in dementia within Canada.
