HIST35- History of Montreal

The history of Montreal from its beginnings to the present day.

Montreal's economic, social, cultural, and political role within the French and British empires, North America, Canada, and Quebec; the city's linguistic and ethnic diversity.

May - June 1, 2023: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (11:05am - 1:25pm)

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

Education:
PhD or ABD in Canadian history or related field required. Expertise in the history of Quebec preferred.

Experience:
Teaching experience in related coursework at the university level preferred.

Other:
Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of the history of Montreal.

Please note that, government directives permitting, it is anticipated that most courses will be taught in person. Should government restrictions prohibit inperson teaching, courses will revert to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Course Lecturers will be advised without delay. Course Lecturers may be required to prepare and deliver teaching material suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform (e.g., Zoom, WebEx) and the McGill myCourses learning management system. Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services (TLS). _
