    Manager, Risk and Legal Affairs - Montreal Office

    Fuze Logistics Services is a next generation 3PL headquartered in Montreal, with offices across North America, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and decades of industry expertise to facilitate the transport of freight globally.

    Fuze Logistics Services is seeking a Manager, Risk and Legal Affairs to join our team in Montreal. The successful candidate will contribute to and be responsible for a wide range of risk management and regulatory compliance matters to support the Company's growth. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a strategic partner with the business on a broad range of challenging commercial matters.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Contracts: update and maintain corporate contract management system; complete the revision of master service, non-disclosure, and other standard form agreements; review new client contracts, redline, negotiate, assess the risk, insurance requirements and determine proper coverage; review non-disclosure agreement, leases, vendor credit applications.
    • Claims: process claims, as required; maintain records of insurance policies and claims.
    • Insurance Renewal: determine proper coverage; client contracts requirements for Brokerage and Transport; broker bond; inbound custom bond; property tenant insurance; cyber insurance.
    • Risk Management: perform a risk evaluation; evaluate the company's previous handling of risks and compare potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements; explain the external risk posed by corporate governance to stakeholders; build risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company; create business continuity plans to limit risks.
    • Asset/Certifications: asset contract renewal; CTPAT, PIP, Smart way, FAST, CSA.
    • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

    What you need to Succeed:

    • Minimum of 1 year of paralegal or related experience;
    • Significant experience with contracts and corporate matters;
    • Strong communication skills, and attention to detail;
    • Ability to multitask and juggle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities;
    • Curiosity and desire to take on mandates in a variety of subject matter areas;
    • Entrepreneurial and highly adaptable.
