Circle Square Ranch Big Clear Lake***The Wrangler reports to the Horsemanship Director, works on a team with another Wrangler, and in the

summer months will provide leadership to the teenage barn staff. In May and June, the responsibilities

of the wrangler include horse care, training horses to get them ready for children to ride them, and

leading trail rides for retreat groups. In July and August, the work includes horse care, teaching riding

lessons to groups of children, and leading pony rides (for younger campers) and trail rides (for older

campers). Like all staff, the wrangler will participate in the spiritual life of the camp through

participation in staff devotions and summer campfires, and may be asked to jump in to help in other

areas of camp from time to time.

Circle Square Ranch is a Christian camp, affiliated with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada.

InterVarsity works children, youth, and young people, helping them to discover Jesus and grow in faith.

Circle Square Ranch runs overnight camps for children in the summer months. Throughout the year, the

Ranch hosts church retreats, school groups, and other groups of Christian families and young adults.

  • The herd is healthy and well cared for.
  • Horses are well trained and able to be used in camp programing.
  • Youth and young adults serving at the barn experience a positive, kind work environment.
  • Children and youth who participate in barn activities are safe, have fun, and increase in their
skills and confidence in riding.


Qualifications:


  • Experience in horse care and riding.
  • Ability and experience in leading a group of people in doing an activity and learning a skill.
  • Ability to work with children, youth and young adults.
  • Ability to lift 20 kg
