Cenovus is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician, Machinery Vibration and Condition Monitoring for Christina Lake.


Reporting to the SWU Mechanical Coordinator is accountable to effectively participate as a team member to analyze and report on the health of rotating process equipment to proactively identify component, equipment and system issues and recommend corrective actions to the AWT Mechanical Coordinators.

Utilization of predictive maintenance programs to include vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasound and equipment condition monitoring technologies are critical to the success of this role.

Work Environment:

  • This is a fulltime position located at our Christina Lake Facility.
  • This position will consist of a shift of 8 days on, 6 days off, 12 hours per day
  • Christina Lake has a fullservice camp facility. Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations.
  • Christina Lake is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB. Modes of transportation and/or schedules may change from time to time in accordance with changing operating needs and transportation availability

Responsibilities:


  • Predictive program and condition monitoring for the following but not limited to: Rotating equipment such as centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, turbines, blowers, pumps, gearboxes, and motors
  • Review and monitoring of rotating equipment condition including vibration data, lube oil results and utilize other critical operating process data such as pressures, temperatures, flows, loads & efficiencies to determine equipment health
  • Vibration & Oil Analysis Database Management
  • Field diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Report equipment deficiencies utilizing SAP (CMMS) in conjunction with the AWT Mechanical Coordinators.
  • Collaborates with responsible Operations and Maintenance Personnel, Reliability Specialists, to recommend repairs of identified equipment deficiencies.
  • RCA participation provides relevant vibration and oil analysis history to support root cause analysis efforts
  • Perform other duties related to this function to ensure the reliability of plant rotating equipment
  • Collect lubrication samples for third party analysis, review results, make recommendations and corrective workorders
  • Infrared thermal imaging, collect and analyze images and report findings to all stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma
  • Journeyman Millwright trade is required
  • Red Seal designation is considered an asset
  • A Minimum 5 years' experience in an Oil & Gas facility
  • Experienced and certified in Vibration Analysis would be considered an asset
  • Condition monitoring certification ISO CAT 1 or 2, preferred
  • CSI 2140 Machinery Health Monitor considered an asset
  • Expertise and proficient in laser alignment, ultrasonic greasing, and thermal growth compensation
  • Welldeveloped and proven mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills on stationary and rotary equipment
  • Proficiency in CMMS software (i.e., Maximo/SAP) and Microsoft programs
  • First Aid, TDG, WHMIS and H2S Alive certifications are required
