What we seek**:

OCHC is currently seeking a dedicated Architectural Field Student to provide support to the Asset Management Team.

Under the guidance of Senior Manager, Asset Management Operations, the Architectural Field Student will assist with the production of technical drawings relating to OCH infrastructure, grounds, building systems, components and Capital Projects.


Architectural Field Student with OCHC**:

Providing a safe and comfortable place for our tenants to call home is a main priority of our organization.

As the Architectural Field Student, you will be an essential part of our objective by contributing to the development and maintenance of OCH CADD standards.

Your experience will help contribute to safer communities when updating and creating safety plans like Fire Safety.


As an**
Architectural Field Student, some of the things you will do include**:

  • Interpret drawings and produces appropriate electronic renderings to assist in long range planning and process development.
  • Ensure drawings are aligned with National Master Specifications.
  • Update, revise, and create plans as required.
  • Update community site plans in conjunction with Tenant Services operational contracts.
  • Complete some maintenance work, handle tools, and other related physical work tasks.
  • Attend site meetings with other team members.
  • Complete office related duties such as data collection, reviewing/interpreting drawings, and other minor administrative duties.

What you bring:


Education & Experience:

  • Enrolled in an Architectural Bachelors Program, Architectural Technology Diploma Program, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technician Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD.
  • Previous experience working in a teambased office environment is an asset.

Skills and abilities:


  • Excellent research, analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to work well independently and to complete projects and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong oral fluency and writing abilities in English.

Other requirements:


  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be between 1530 years of age.
  • Valid "G" driver's license or equivalent
  • Must provide CSA approved work boots.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check

Work conditions:

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) hybrid position with on-site attendance as required.
