POSITION OVERVIEW (Purpose):

Graywood Developments ("Graywood") is a privately-owned, Toronto-based real estate investment management company that specializes in the development of mixed-use properties of exceptional quality in Canada and is growing its real estate asset management business.

Graywood has a strong track record of raising capital from institutional and high net worth investors, having raised $644 million of equity across 9 real estate private equity funds.

Graywood has also secured significant additional equity through joint-ventures and direct investments.

During its 37-year history, Graywood has managed 53 development projects, with 31,100 housing units and a combined value of $8.5 billion.

Over the past 36 months, Graywood has committed $231 million of equity towards new development projects totalling $2.4 billion.

Additionally, in the past 2 months Graywood has completed commercial real estate transactions totalling $36 million and [has commenced an advisory mandate for a portfolio of real estate totaling in excess of $1.5 billion comprised of all asset classes in both Canada and the United States].

We are looking to add an Asset Manager to our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a "start up" environment.

You will be primarily focused on managing industrial, retail, residential and office assets across Ontario, reporting to management and taking ownership of an established and growing portfolio.

Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

Portfolio Onboarding

Property due diligence, including review of property documents, leases, contracts, operating statements, etc.
Prepare Argus models, sophisticated excel based cashflow models and summaries to management and clients
Develop business plans alongside leadership team for portfolio assets

Asset Management

Evaluate performance of individual asset management plans, while providing recommendations and revisions as necessary
Complete quarterly reviews and analysis
Meet with clients and stakeholders to assess asset status, needs, risks, goals, and progress
Foster and maintain positive client relationships
Research relevant markets and identify trends
Ensure compliance set in place by financial institutions/lenders, municipalities, and other governing bodies
Set annual budgets in accordance with asset plans
Assist with the creation and implementation of asset management policies and procedures
Contribute to leasing, financing, and business plan execution

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

A University degree and/or Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or related field
CFA, CAA, CPA, or other professional designations considered an asset

Experience

5 or more years of progressive experience as a real estate asset manager at a leading institutional asset management company

Key Competencies:

Manage multiple portfolios and client relationships
Extensive knowledge of Argus Enterprise and Excel
Strong business writing skills
Resourceful problem solver
Not afraid to roll up their sleeves
Great communication and relationship building skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
