The Opportunity

Our Liquids Business is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Calgary, Alberta to lead our Work Management Team.


Reporting to Manager, Field Operations Services, the Manager, Maintenance Planning/Work Management will be responsible for leading and managing the Liquids Field Operations Work Management Program and Work Planning Protocols that optimize the way our Capital, GPMC, Integrity, and Maintenance Programs are prioritized, planned, scheduled, and executed, while supporting compliance and conformance with our regulatory, best practice, commercial and operational obligations.

What you'll do

  • Work across organizational boundaries with various departments in Liquids business and TC Energy to resolve and optimize the use of SAP functions, tools, and processes, and to enable the most effective and efficient maintenance and work programs and plans.
  • Leading and maturing our work management identification and planning process across the BU.
  • Leading and maturing our outage/turn around program.
  • Support our Engineering teams and other project teams with the assembling of a multiyear projects and programs work plan that considers technical issues, regulatory requirements, implementation feasibility, and commercial sensitivities.
  • Collaborate and oversee in the optimization of a wellplanned and sequenced program for capital and expense projects
  • Ensure planning of outages and resources in collaboration with Commercial teams and Work Management Planners
  • Liaise with other project groups such as Major Projects and Pipeline Integrity Programs
  • Act as single point of contact for the planning of the Facility Engineering Projects and corrective maintenance
  • Ensure a balanced program is handed over to the appropriate team for execution
  • Communicate the Program Plan (verbal and written) to key stakeholders
  • Monitor program execution risk to adjust program plans as needed
  • Collaborate, participate and or lead various committees and initiatives for continuous improvement Engage with regulators to address questions and resolve any issues related to compliance
  • Collaborate with related functional resources to identify and establish effective companywide work management and outage management programs and processes
  • Canvass the department master data for emerging compliance risks and potential noncompliances and prepare reporting for leadership
  • Act with initiative to identify and define compliance deficiencies and opportunities for improvement, as well as recommend appropriate courses of action to decision makers
  • Participate in emergency preparedness activities in a trained capacity including fullscale emergency exercises
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in industry with the majority in a role of maintenance management/outage management
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Demonstrates ability to mentor, coach, supervise
  • A selfstarter with a proven record for working with mínimal supervision, able to work independently
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues without formal guidelines or precedents and exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity to interpret policy
  • Very strong communication (written and verbal) and facilitation skills with ability to tailor delivery to suit all levels of audience
  • Demonstrated decision making and problemsolving abilities in risk identification, communication, prioritization and management
  • Proven interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated strong planning, organizing, prioritizing and project management skills
  • Analytical skills and proven ability to extract and synthesize data from multiple sources
  • Ability to work within formal and informal organizational networks as well as demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration and/or Professional Engineering Designation
  • Knowledge of SAP and Plant Maintenance Modules
  • Understanding of various liquids and or gas hydrocarbons transmission facilities in relations to operations and field maintenance practices and related best practices within industry
  • Demonstrated influencing and consensus building skills
  • Travel will be required to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training
  • This will involve some overnight stays away from home base (estimated up 20% of work schedule)
  • Have and maintain a valid dri
