- Minimum of a Master's degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline
- Five years minimum public school teaching experience with students having diverse needs
- Individual must be very familiar with the Education Assistant Program curriculum so they are able to evaluate student performance based on the learning outcomes
- Preference is given to individuals who have taught in a similar program in a credit-granting post-secondary program
- Be a positive and active contributor to the Education Assistant department, the Faculty of Social Sciences & Community Programs, and the College
- Prepare and deliver curriculum
- Evaluate student performance and provide a final grade
- Ensure effective use of available class time
- Ensure there are opportunities to meet with students during office hours
- Attend meetings, both internally in the College and externally in the community
- Work within the context of the policies and procedures of snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ Langara College
- Maintain currency and strive for excellence in instructional practices and approaches
- Maintain currency in relevant subject areas, including global and/or local trends, issues, and opportunities
- Maintain collegial working relationships
- As appropriate, actively seek opportunities to integrate students and learning into organizations and/or the community
- Ensure that the snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ Langara student and school are informed about intended practicum learning outcomes
- Provide information, guidance and support to the student in their practicum placement
- Arrange at least two mutually convenient times to meet face to face to observe and to conference with the student and or school team to discuss progress
- Facilitate communication between the school team, the practicum student and snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ Langara College
- Be available to clarify questions or expectations and to attempt to mediate problems related to the practicum as appropriate
- Commitment to supporting Indigenous knowledge and knowledge systems and principles for Indigenization at snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ Langara

Job Description:
The successful applicant will work as a member of the Education Assistant Department teaching two practicum courses to students in the Education Assistant Certificate program. These courses are scheduled during the months of October and November 2024. There is the possibility of ongoing teaching work in the Education Assistant program.Required Qualifications:
