    OVERVIEW

    Nestled in the heart of East Toronto, Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) is a vibrant community teaching hospital serving more than 400,000 people in 22 distinct neighbourhoods. MGH is a proud member of East Toronto Health Partners, the Ontario Health Team serving East Toronto.

    Reporting to the Manager, Events, the Events Assistant will play a key role in supporting the planning and execution of the Foundation's signature and community fundraising events. They will also work closely with an Events Officer and VP, Annual, Events & Operations to enhance the events program and manage a portfolio of third-party community events.

    This opportunity is perfect for individuals early in their career, aiming to specialize in events and gain exposure to a diverse events program.     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support the Events team with administrative tasks for signature and third-party events.
    • Assist in preparing committee meetings.
    • Solicit and track in-kind donations for events and manage associated silent auctions.
    • Assist in designing, producing, and overseeing event invitations.
    • Manage third-party community events.
    • Recruit and supervise volunteers for signature events.
    • Perform other assigned duties.

    EDUCATION

    Undergraduate or college degree with a focus on fundraising or events management is advantageous.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
    • Familiarity with Raiser's Edge, Givergy, and/or Raisin software is a plus.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
    • Professional, collaborative, creative, innovative, and resourceful. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and a drive for personal and team success.
    • Experience working with event volunteers and securing in-kind donations.
    • Ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders, donors, sponsors, and event attendees.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Adobe design software.
    • Knowledge of social media platforms is beneficial.
    • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings.
    • Commitment to patient and staff safety as per MGH Foundation's policies.
