    What You Will Do

    Reporting to the Construction Site Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting the Construction Site Manager with the functioning of construction management field operation by managing, negotiating, monitoring and controlling the construction phase of assigned largescale Transit Expansion Projects. As assigned, the Assistant Construction Site Manager may be the authorized representative of the TTC prime representative with TTC Operations, utility companies, external; public agencies and municipalities, as related to the construction project or assist a Construction Site Manager with the same functions for larger projects. The Assistant Construction Site Manager supervises multidisciplinary field staff and is responsible for organizing and maintaining construction site operations, shift rotation and supports staff to provide full support for Metrolinx work on/within TTC property. The Assistant Construction Site Manager may substitute for the Construction Site Manager as required. The incumbent promotes a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Participates in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.Candidate will be required to participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.

    May be required to be on-call outside of normal working hours to deal with emergency situations.

    What Qualifications Do You Bring?


    • Completion of a degree/diploma in relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Architecture, Construction), combined with several years of directly related work experience in TTC construction; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.

    • Demonstrated experience in construction inspection, administration and documentation.

    • A valid Province of Ontario Class G driver's license would be an asset. May be required use of own vehicle required for visits to construction sites that are not easily accessible by public transits.

    • Ability to lead supervisory field staff in a construction environment within budget and schedule restraints.

    • Require medium to heavy physical effort and ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, as well as agility, alertness, good hearing and eyesight.

    • Must hold and maintain Power Cutter certification in order to set up work zones and perform/monitor power cuts to facilitate contractor's work at track level;

    • Must hold and maintain Person-In-Charge (PIC) and Work-Area-Coordinator (WAC) certification;

    • Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
