    We're on the lookout for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Commercial Legal team situated in Montreal. In this position, you will operate under the guidance of the Head of Commercial Legal, Global, and will be responsible for:

    • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts for enterprise-level customers, strategic partners, and vendors/suppliers.
    • Providing guidance and knowledge to other members of the legal team and stakeholder groups.
    • Collaborating with diverse stakeholders such as go-to-market, product, finance, procurement, and executive leadership to offer counsel on different business ventures.
    • Managing intricate, cross-functional, or multi-jurisdictional strategic projects.
    • Creating and implementing scalable systems, processes, and policies to enhance Lightspeed's efficiency and scalability.
    • Overseeing litigation and managing other disputes.
    • Assisting in supervising engagements with external legal advisors, including involvement in budgeting, strategy, and work product assessments.

    What your role entails:

    • 3-5 years of post-qualified experience with strong expertise in commercial contracting.
    • Proven history of offering practical and strategic legal advice in a SaaS or tech environment.
    • Broad commercial proficiency acquired in a fast-paced and global setting.
    • Experience in collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders of varied professional backgrounds and levels, including executives.

    Even better if you have, even though not mandatory:

    • Experience operating in diverse jurisdictions and languages.
    • Managing legal teams in previous roles.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based SaaS products, payments solutions, or financial services.
    • Understanding and background in IP, data privacy, fiscalization, and corporate law.
