The BCCA Marketing Department is looking for a dynamic, versatile, and highly organized Content Manager with a passion for writing, and anything/everything content/marketing related.

BCCA programs serve more than 10,000 contractors, and with such an enormous reach, we are the go-to source of information and guidance for our industry.

As the successful applicant. You have very strong research, time management, project planning, and writing skills.

You are a highly organized individual with a strong business acumen, who performs well under deadlines, is detail oriented, and able to keep things on track and on schedule.


In this position you will be a key member of a small and nimble marketing team, that manages 9 brands, 6 website brands, and 6 social brands.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing a content strategy, and writing copy, to align with the organizational objectives set by the Director of Marketing & Communications.

You will work closely with other marketing team members across a wide range of programs, campaigns and tasks to support these 9 brands.

You have a passion for writing, communication and everything content/marketing related.


BCCA is currently allowing employees to work from home or at our main office in Victoria, or in a hybrid situation.

We will work with you to ascertain your needs.


Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, as a Content Manager, you will:

  • Develop and manage a monthly content calendar to structure webpages, social content, videos, news, and advocacy files.
  • Write copy and develop content across several mediums including but not limited to advertising (digital and print), web, promotions, newsletters, video scripts, executive speaking notes, news releases, reports, advocacy updates, and various documents
  • Stay abreast of current industry issues, trends and best practices to identify and develop compelling content that will engage our various audiences
  • Manage and set clear direction for the Social Media Manager
  • Use target keywords to write topnotch content that is not only optimized for search engines, but compelling and informative to our various audiences
  • Develop and oversee paid search and paid social media campaigns
  • Working in collaboration with the Marketing Project Manager and design teams/agencies to provide targeted and compelling campaign copy on various marketing initiatives

Your skills

As a Content Manager, you will have/bring:

  • A post-secondary education
  • bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years in marketing and communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in writing for several forms (social media, advertising [print & digital], news releases, newsletter, web and digital, long form reports, white papers, etc.)
  • The ability to develop and write content that provokes engagement
  • Excellent creativity and proven ability to develop original content
  • A good understanding of content marketing tactics such as, but not limited to: social media marketing, digital advertising, SEO, PR & media relations, video, and newsletters
  • A strong knowledge of SEO best practices and adept at keyword placement
  • Robust Adobe Suite, WordPress, and Google Analytics skills
  • Experience in learning and using multiple cloudbased software systems such as Survey Monkey, Mailchimp (Newsletters), Loomly (Social Media Management), Zoom, HubSpot (CRM), etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Project management experience and project management software experience
  • Comfort in multitasking and working under pressing deadlines
  • Versatile skills required to adapt to a variety of tasks
  • Experience in managing staff
