Responsibilities:
· Performs all work related to month-end completion.
· Prepares, analyzes and presents month-end financial statements and various key performance indicators to the management group.
· Compiles year-end audit supporting documentation and acts as the primary contact for auditor questions during the year-end audit process.
· Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
· Prepares ad-hoc financial reports as requested.
· Designs appropriate procedures based on the business processing scope, risk, materiality.
· Supports bi-weekly Payroll function.
· Prepares and files sales tax returns on a timely basis.
· Prepares HST /GST /PST returns and remits tax payment timely.
· Engages with and manage external advisors to ensure tax matters impacting the company are properly understood and documented.
· Conducts external contacts under professional standards by using sound techniques and methodologies.
· Training and supervising team members
· Identifies accounting or tax issues and bringing them to the management attention.
· Preparation of ad-hoc reports / documents as requested by CRA.
· Preparation and complementation of governments' reports as necessary in time.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in accounting.
· CPA designation preferred.
· Over 5 years of accounting experience, over 5 years cost accounting experience preferred.
· Experience using a variety of accounting software, using SAP system would be a key asset.
· Experience working in manufacturing industry preferred.
· Detail oriented and organized.
· Strong Excel, Microsoft office skills.
· Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
· Team player and collaborates well with others.
· Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
· High level of integrity. Maintains confidentiality.
· Ability to handle multi-task in a rational and orderly manner.
· Strong communication skills in English and Chinese.
