Develop project strategies, plans and support the development of project management strategies pertaining to assets, technology and systems and identify opportunities for cost savings.


Job Description:


  • Lead and manage complex projects and be responsible for the integration of Transmission Stations and Lines, Distribution Stations and Lines, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Real Estate,Telecommunications, Computer Technologies, Information Systems,Application Systems, LANS and a variety of Computer Technologies.
  • Coordinate work program needs for project and team charters while identifying the key customers and stakeholders within the framework of ISO Implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control mechanisms by utilizing problem solving techniques, audits and evaluations for ongoing project quality and continuous improvement by assessing and implementing improvement strategies project specific.
  • Manage and perform the full life cycle of work programs resolving issues of performance, scheduling and control. Define objectives, perform tasks and produce deliverables critical to the success of the project and in the development of and implementation of contractual agreements. Identify needs for staffing resources, material resources and project management support, as required. Identify the project components ensuring the project team understand the deliverables from start to close out.
  • Manage risks related to the identification, quantification, response development and response control throughout the course of a project by establishing a project management process for identifying, analyzing, prioritizing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documentation. Develop and communicate risk response through acceptance, avoidance or mitigation.
  • Provide project management and facilitation services through all phases of systems project life cycles, including needs assessment, support business case development, support approval, project manage implementation and transition to operational status.
  • Develop project strategies, plans and provide consultation and support for the development project management strategies pertaining to assets, technology and systems. Identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, strategies, standards and integrated plans for Transmission Stations, and Lines, Distribution Stations and Lines, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Real Estate, Telecommunications, Computer Technologies, Information Systems, Application Systems, LANS and a variety of Computer Technologies.
  • Provide consultation, planning and support services to Business Units and functions, in connection with Transmission Stations and Lines, Distribution Stations and Lines, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Real Estate, Telecommunications, Computer Technologies, Information Systems, Application Systems, LANS and a variety of Computer Technology projects.
  • Be responsible for the work of staff assigned to participate in the project teams or assisting other work activities, by planning, organizing, assigning and checking their work and giving advise, guidance and direction as necessary, in working environment which is consistent with the philosophy and the goals of continuous quality improvement. Refer personal issues which have a significant impact on the project or employment of staff assigned to the project to the Supervisor for resolution.

Education:


  • Requires a knowledge of business administration and project management to integrate and coordinate information services and provide consulting services to customers.
  • Requires a knowledge of information technology and systems associated with project management activities. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years).
  • Requires experience in consulting, project management and facilitation services through all phases of systems project life cycles, including needs assessment, business case development, approval, implementation and transition to operational status.
Positions are for the GTA/Central, North & East and Southwest Project Delivery Group.
