    Description

    Role Responsibilities

    Reporting directly to the Director, Epidemiology and Surveillance, the Health Data Scientist role involves four key responsibilities:

    • Utilizing various analytical methods to extract valuable insights from health data to assist Alberta Health and other stakeholders in making well-informed decisions for enhancing healthcare system policies.
    • Managing Data and Analytics Infrastructure by establishing internal capabilities for advanced analytics like data mining, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
    • Generating reports and dashboards for data dissemination – conveying data efficiently and clearly to the relevant parties, as well as sending reports and data for further analysis or immediate action.
    • Designing and executing a comprehensive health indicator evaluation framework that delves deeper into evaluating the quality and appropriate utilization of health indicators.
