    Description
    Mott MacDonald is currently seeking a senior rolling stock engineer to support our North American projects and business growth. Providing technical and project management expertise to our clients on their rail vehicle fleet feasibility studies, procurements, operations, and maintenance activities including overhauls and asset management
    Maintaining and building client relationships to grow the business and acquire new contracts
    Managing contract budgets and being familiar with cost analysis terms and their use
    Mott Macdonald provides cost-effective, and creative, and innovative engineering solutions in North America for several different industry sectors.

    We are seeking a senior rolling stock (locomotive and commuter rail vehicle) project engineer to join the team with the ideal candidate having the following experience:

    ~20 years minimum previous experience as a Rolling Stock (Rail Vehicle) Engineer focused primarily on locomotives and commuter rail coaches
    ~ Electrical Rolling Stock experience in and/or light rail and metro vehicles, heavy rail (passenger and freight) vehicles
    ~ Knowledge of traction, door control, communication, and other complex rolling stock systems
    ~ Good knowledge of the rail industry and experience of assessing designs to railway standards (e.g. Excellent communication and writing skills
    ~ A senior level engineer with an aptitude and willingness for mentoring junior engineers
    ~ Must have experience in technical report writing
    ~ Must have experience in producing technical specifications and independent cost estimates
    ~ General knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards as related to Rail Vehicles
    ~ Experience conducting vehicle inspections, quality audits, and witnessing equipment testing and commissioning is a plus
    ~ Experience supporting project management staff with vehicle procurements and/or vehicle overhaul work
    ~ Experience developing proposals to provide agencies engineering services and technical support
