Position Summary:

The Winnipeg Humane Society ("WHS") is offering a unique and rewarding opportunity
for a qualified Stewardship & Events Officer. Reporting to the Director of Donor

Relations, the role is responsible for developing and producing a range of virtual, and

in-person fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events with an annual revenue

target of $620,000 to start.

This is a full-time permanent position. Some scheduling flexibility to attend work events
or meetings after hours is expected. This position can be a hybrid of working from
home and in the office. When working in the office, it will be in a shared space.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


Event Management

  • Serves as the primary contact for signature and internal events and coordinates their
fundraising activities and logistics- Is responsible for managing both income and expenditure targets based on the

approved budgets for each event

  • Builds positive relationships with committee/event volunteers, donors, and prospects
  • Solicits gifts to help maximize revenue targets for campaigns and events
  • Creates detailed work plans for all events, managing workflow to ensure goals are
met on time

  • Oversees donor recognition and acknowledgment
  • Develops a winback strategy to reengage past event participants

Donor Stewardship

  • Works with the Director to develop and implement a systemized and achievable
stewardship strategy, to strengthen long-term relationships with donors and community
- partners

  • Ensure that details of stewardship plans are compiled and communicated to all
involved parties, and that the plan is documented and implemented

  • Support the creation of timely and meaningful impact and outcomes reporting to
donors

  • Work in partnership with the Communications team in the development of content
and stories, and on public recognition of donors

  • Create and maintain donor recognition lists, physical and online donor wall
  • Mange all prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship events

  • 2 years progressive experience in fundraising and event management
  • Your demonstrated ability to meet fundraising targets
  • Your experience and proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Your exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
