Western Stevedoring is seeking an IT Support Analyst to join our team. This full-time, 1 year contract position is based at our head office in North Vancouver.


The Position


The IT Support Analyst will be responsible for providing high quality, responsive, and service focused first/second line IT support and administration to the user community.

They will serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance over the phone or via our ticketing system.

This position will develop and deploy end user training on productivity software and cloud solutions.


You will be part of a motivated and diverse team and will have a high degree of interaction with all employees throughout the organization.


Responsibilities & Activities
User IT Support & Training

  • Monitor, prioritize, resolve, and close IT Service Desk tickets promptly.
  • Support all users on Windows client workstations and iOS/Android mobile devices.
  • User account and Security administration.
IT Asset Management

  • Develop and maintain an asset management solution for all desktops and laptops.
  • Develop a standard image and deploy, upgrade, and replace desktops and laptops as required.
  • Install, manage and troubleshoot MFP's as needed.
Security Administration

  • Monitor and maintain security systems such as MS Security Center, Defender and Intune.
  • Monitor threats, and work with other IT team members, respond to threat alerts, isolate endpoints, and initiate incident response protocols.
  • Support the IT team with managing the cybersecurity awareness training platform.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma in IT related field or combination of experience and education
  • Excellent understanding of Windows client operating systems and the M365 productivity toolset.
  • Excellent understanding of user and GPO administration in a Windows AD environment
  • Solid understanding of network protocols
  • Excellent understanding of various communication and conferencing tools
  • Excellent Customer/Team interaction skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problemsolving ability.
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
