Amine’s career is a story of crossing disciplines and refusing to be confined by one path. He began as a scientist, earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria, where he immersed himself in medical research laboratories. Those years, spent with microscopes and data sheets, taught him scientific rigour and instilled resilience, patience, and an eye for detail that would remain with him long after he left the lab.
Law soon became the next chapter. In Québec’s bijudicial system, Amine undertook three years of intensive study that stretched from constitutional and criminal law to environmental and international law. This training gave him a double vision of legal reasoning—civil and common law—while grounding him in questions of justice that would continue to shape his choices.
His professional journey began at the Ministry of the Attorney General of British Columbia, where he managed complex case files and attended well over 5,000 hours of court hearings. Few experiences equal the education of listening, day after day, to judges, lawyers, and litigants argue the fine lines of justice. From there, he moved into law firms across Canada, before clerking at the Superior Court of Justice. Later, at Collège Boréal, he designed and taught law and communication courses, linking classroom theory to real-world procedure and introducing students to the living texture of the law.
Education never left his horizon. He pursued a graduate certificate in Knowledge Mobilization at Bishop’s University, followed by a Master’s in Applied Ethics at Université Laval, conflict resolution studies at Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership at McGill University. Each step added a layer: the translation of research into practice, the ethical demands of decision-making, the craft of dialogue, the responsibility of leadership.
His practice broadened with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada (ADRIC), where he contributed to policy and knowledge mobilization in mediation and arbitration. This work foreshadowed his current role at Epiq, a multinational class action and remediation firm. There, he directs national case files of high visibility, leads a team of seven, and safeguards sensitive data while ensuring compliance. It is a role that calls on all his skills: the discipline of science, the reasoning of law, the patience of teaching, and the fairness of conflict resolution.
Through it all, Amine has been a communicator. A polyglot, a seasoned presenter, and a trainer of staff, he has worked comfortably with audiences as varied as students, judges, clients, and corporate executives. He is at ease reviewing and editing documents, advising on strategy, or standing before a room to teach. Across laboratories, lecture halls, courtrooms, and boardrooms, his pursuit has remained constant: to turn knowledge into fair practice, and to keep justice human in every setting he enters.
