Andrew MacTavish

 I am skilled in both technology and communication.  I have experience in software development, research analysis, data analysis, and administration. I am flexible and adaptive to any workplace needs or wants. 

My work experience extends from my role in system administration with a social work program providing both technical and non-technical skills. I provided customer support to new applicants of our program as well as constructed data reports on our program's clients to support new initiatives. 

My role and work experience with BELL has proceeded with critical thinking, problem-solving, and communicating technical solutions. I have produced excel macros for deciphering data reports, created an automated email issue report system with JIRA  to identify critical ticket issues, and constructed a capital planning framework to account for multiple projects' yearly expenditures. A great deal of this work involved communicating to stakeholders the new tools and initiatives for implementing the solutions. As well as documenting information on the solutions to help support new users in either learning or reconstructing the solutions. Demonstrations were also conducted to showcase the solution to team members and stakeholders.

I am a student at the Red River College Polytech, enrolled in the software development program. My studies are in Java focusing on object-oriented programming, including database management, business analysis, and software development in the .NET Framework. The software development program relies on self-drive and independent learning. Through my studies at Red River and a graduate from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts studying Sociology and Economics has supported my ongoing drive towards critical thinking and curiosity.
