Anya Johnson

I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Design in Fashion Communication from Toronto Metropolitan University. I am looking to obtain employment in Vancouver, BC, where I can utilize and develop my skills in various areas. I have extensive customer service experience and completed graphic design and publication internships.

In terms of graphics, I have experience creating content for Instagram and Facebook from my time at Style Circle and the Inuit Art Foundation and I am confident working with style guides. My position at the Inuit Art Foundation was both exciting and difficult, as the work I produced was very different from my school projects. Although my style is often bright and playful, I can quickly adapt to a brand’s identity and aesthetic when necessary. I am motivated by challenges, both in the workplace and in my personal creative projects. 

I have extensive experience working in customer service due to my previous retail jobs. My past positions have allowed me to develop skills like effective communication and attention to detail. After having worked in high volume and small boutique environments, I am confident in my ability to work as part of a team and individually. During my most recent retail position at La Vie En Rose, I was faced with varying customer needs, many of which were fulfilled on a one-on-one basis. This experience required strong adaptability skills and the capacity to build a comfortable and trustworthy environment for customers. In addition to sales, I have worked in stock and warehouse environments and I am confident in my operational and organizational abilities.

I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Design in Fashion Communication from Toronto Metropolitan University. Through my education, I have had the opportunity to take a variety of design courses, from typography to illustration to art direction to marketing. These classes taught me valuable design principles, while my select electives and theory courses allowed me to develop my research, analysis, and writing skills. In courses like "Research Methods", I exercised fundamental research skills such as developing a literature review, composing a research paper, and analyzing and organizing qualitative and quantitative data. 

I have worked extensively with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, and I have moderate experience with Illustrator, After Effects and Premier Pro. The skills I have attained through school are transferable and versatile, as is the experience I gained through my internship placements.
