Mickayla Workman

Efficient recent college graduate from University of Calgary. During my academic career I studied the history of literatures, not only in English, but also literatures from all over the world. This taught me to enhance my critical thinking skills, and level up my writing to a whole new dimension. Developed my own skills as a creative writer too. 

Worked in the hospitality field during years as a student. 

After graduating, I worked for my professor over the summer collecting data for his project called “What Were Comics?”. This is a data set that seeks to reorient the study of comics (comic books, strips, and graphic novels) using large-scale, quantitative research methods. Under the advisement of Bart Beaty, I was able to utilize and strengthen research skills, technical skills, and attention to detail.

I was a server and host at a restaurant for 5 years. Following that I was an English tutor for high school students and my professor's research assistant.

I have completed my BA in English with a minor in Greek and Roman Studies.
