Classification and Salary :
Maintenance Service Worker 1 (MSW1) Park Maintenance Worker 1:
$ $24.22 per hour

For all roles :

In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:

• 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays

• 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay

In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:

• $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays

• $2.75 per hour for evenings

Role Responsibilities

If you enjoy working outside and are committed to caring for Alberta Park's facilities and campgrounds, come join our Maintenance Team in the Grande Prairie District. We are looking for highly motivated, well-organized, responsible Maintenance Service Workers for the 2024 summer operating season.

Individuals will be part of a team accountable for providing regular maintenance and operational duties that support the day use areas, campgrounds, facilities and trail systems.

We are currently looking to hire Park Maintenance Workers for the following Provincial Parks and Provincial Recreation Areas in the Grande Prairie District :

• Moonshine Lake Provincial Park

• Young's Point Provincial Park

• Saskatoon Island Provincial Park

• Historical Dunvegan Provincial Park

As a Maintenance Service Worker (MSW1), duties and responsibilities include but not limited to :

• Lawn maintenance and minor repairs of facilities

• Performing routine custodial and cleaning duties of park facilities

• Responding to in-person requests for information on area amenities and park conditions, as needed

• Performing routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment

• Completing trail and signage projects

• Reporting all maintenance concerns accordingly

• Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies, procedures and protocols as well as the Facility Emergency Response Plan and protocols.

• Completing administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and online courses
