    Description

    SoundHound AI believes in enabling natural interactions through voice technology, making it easier for people to communicate with products. With a global presence covering multiple languages, we develop Voice AI solutions for various industries like automotive and restaurant services, helping our clients enhance their brand in innovative ways.

    In the Menu Data Engineering team, we transform menus meant for visual consumption into voice-friendly versions. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies, such as externally developed LLMs and our proprietary programming language CaiLan, we focus on creating tools that allow analysts to efficiently verify and expand these voice menus. Additionally, we concentrate on developing APIs to streamline the integration of menus and orders. Our collaboration with NLU engineers and analysts ensures rapid menu onboarding and delivers a seamless customer journey.

    In this role, you will:

    • Be a pivotal contributor in shaping AI-driven transactions in the restaurant sector
    • Devise algorithms for processing menus into voice-compatible formats
    • Construct systems for seamless order placement through modified menus
    • Offer APIs for smooth integration with other systems
    • Collaborate with diverse teams across North America and Europe

    We are interested in hearing from you if:

    • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with at least 5 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience
    • You are proficient in a programming language such as C++, Python, Java, Go, or C#
    • You have familiarity with source code management tools like Git, Subversion, Mercurial, or Perforce
      Nice to have:
    • You have knowledge of JVM, Kubernetes & LLMs
    • You have experience with functional programming languages like Clojure, Scala, Lisp, Scheme, OCaml, F#, Elixir, or Erlang
    • Additional skills in prompt engineering and API design (Swagger, Postman, JSON, REST, OpenAPI, ...) would be beneficial

    This position is open in the Toronto Canada area. Employees within a 100-kilometer radius of our Toronto office are required to work from the office on three pre-scheduled "core days" each month to encourage collaboration. Apart from these office-specific days, this role offers flexibility with virtual/remote, hybrid, and in-office work settings. Along with competitive compensation and equity, you will receive comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other perks. The specific salary range will be provided by our recruitment team based on location and experience.
