Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for the role of an Enterprise Data Management Analyst.

This individual will collaborate directly with key stakeholders in business and technology to enforce data management best practices within AIMCo.


Furthermore, the Analyst will undertake data quality assurance tasks that encompass reviewing policies and procedures, conducting regular data quality profiling, and managing special projects related to data quality concerns.


Responsibilities:


  • Guides and supports the datacleansing initiatives for the purpose of improving, purging and eliminating corrupt, missing or redundant information from enterprise systems
  • Performs root cause analysis of data issues using data quality tools and manual investigation.
  • Develops data quality assessment and cleansing specifications in support of assigned duties.
  • Assists Technology and Architecture teams in implementing data quality processes.
  • Assists in defining the data quality dashboards.
  • Assures metadata standards are followed for new and existing data including both structured and unstructured data.
  • Monitors compliance of information flows and data stores against data quality standards.
  • Identifies areas for data quality improvement and helps to resolve data quality problems.
  • Measures and reports to Data Governance Team on the progress of data quality improvements.
  • Performs data audits on a regular basis as per the Data Quality Program or work package assignments.
  • May provides data quality tools expertise, data quality training and consulting services to other project or operational resources following the DG work plan and assigned work package assignments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics; other disciplines considered with experience. Advanced degrees preferred. 35 years experience in Data Management or related datacentric field
  • Direct experience in a similar role within the investment industry or in data governance is desired.
  • Ability to multitask to manage data quality across legacy and future state environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders in crossfunctional teams. Demonstrated experience in facilitation, presenting to large groups with ability to simplify complex ideas and communicate effectively according to audience.
  • Ready to work individually and in a team in Agile set up.
  • Independent learner with ability to think beyond basic concepts while assessing multiple factors to recommend practical solutions
  • Technical background with a drive to initiate and develop solutions that link business and technology requirements. Strong database architecture, design, implementation, and operations experience is an asset.
  • Understanding of investment data types, investment instruments, and investment industry concepts is highly desirable
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo's core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration, and inspiring the same in others.

Success Measures:


After three months in the role, success will be determined by your ability to integrate with the team, understand our approach to collaborative Data Governance and processes involved in data product delivery.

Over the course of the first year, you will develop profound understanding of data governance principles and collaborate with various stakeholders in cross functional teams throughout the data lifecycle.

This role requires your understanding of Data Quality Management, metadata management, along with knowledge of investment data within AIMCo.

Your ability to implement data quality solutions and KPIs that link business and technology requirements will shape you into an integral part of our team.
