    POSITION SUMMARY

    Working within the Early Childhood Education (ECE) department, under the guidance of the Daycare Supervisor, the Early Childhood Educator will provide hands-on childcare to children in Seabird Island Band's Early Childhood Education programs, following all childcare licensing requirements and the philosophies, policies, and objectives set by Seabird Island Band Management.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Child Care:
      • Provide developmentally and culturally appropriate activities for children
      • Assist with meals and snacks, ensuring dietary needs are met
      • Create a safe and healthy environment with flexible routines
      • Encourage parental involvement in children's learning
    • Records Keeping and Attendance Tracking:
      • Maintain attendance records
      • Follow health record procedures and medication administration
      • Report accidents, injuries, illnesses, and (suspected) child abuse promptly
      • Participate in field trips and contribute to center operations
    • Other:
      • Undertake additional duties as assigned

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Education:
      • Early Childhood Education Certificate and current license
      • Infant/Toddler or Special Needs certification advantageous
    • Experience/Skills:
      • Experience in Early Childhood Education
      • Knowledge of child development, family-centered practice, and community services
      • Strong coordination, time management, and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude
    • Requirements:
      • Ensure confidentiality at all times
      • Comply with health and safety regulations
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
      • Respect for Stó: lo culture and willingness to learn
      • Valid BC Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
      • Clear Criminal Record Check
