    Quality Control Maintenance/Customer Experience Inspector

    Cad Railway has other facilities in Calgary, Alberta (under Caltrax banner) and has been selected by the ONxpress Transportation Partners association to provide all legacy fleet maintenance services for the Metrolinx rail fleet of approximately 1000 bi-level coaches and 90 locomotives.

    Cad Railway's delivery team will operate and maintain Metrolinx's rail maintenance facilities in Etobicoke and Whitby, as well as in multiple overnight along with mid-day light servicing facilities located across the Metrolinx train service area.


    Summary of the role:


    The Quality Control Maintenance/Customer Experience Inspector will be responsible for the quality monitoring, inspecting, and testing of operational standards for the Metrolinx's Legacy Fleet Maintenance operations.

    This individual will collaborate with the management team, customers, suppliers, partners and involved stakeholders.


    Reporting to the Quality Control Maintenance/Customer Experience Supervisor, will be responsible for ensuring compliance with processes, products and system specifications as defined by the Quality Management System.


    Core Accountabilities:

    • Responsible for ensuring processes, products, parts, materials, and systems meet all quality requirements set by the customer and business. Identify, record, and report all quality issues, potential root causes. Recommend improvement measures to the business to ensure quality standards are met
    • Possess the ability to comprehend content of documentation and instructions and measure quality against such documents
    • Maintain and document records of testing, audits and inspections ensuring accuracy and completeness
    • Support the use of the Quality Management System and other quality control measures
    • Perform inspections, audits and testing as required by the business
    • Compile statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of processes, products, parts, and materials
    • Support all continuous improvement activities relating to quality and the ISO9001 certification. Understand overall customer satisfaction and support initiatives to ensure a positive experience. Work with representatives from the customer Quality team as required
    • Promote quality awareness on quality activities planned for the project and support required quality training
    • Able to use measuring equipment as required during the inspection process
    • Ability to develop KPI's and present data
    • Prepare senior management relating any potential complications
    • Work with the team to prepare and create recurrent reports that are requested by management.
    • Comply with the company's applicable policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to build strong rapport with the team and unionized maintenance personnel
    • 3 – 5 years experience in Quality Control Inspection on a mechanical related field.
    • Rail locomotive and passenger coach experience and knowledge is preferred
    • Experience using quality and problemsolving tools.
    • Experience performing audits
    • Diploma or degree relating to the field of expertise

    Nice to have:

    • Familiarity with other industries such as Aerospace or Transportation
    • Internal Auditor training
