The Office of the Integrity Commissioner strives to encourage a culture of integrity and accountability.

The Office is seeking a Team Lead - Compliance to support the Office of the Integrity Commissioner in fulfilling its mandates as a Centre of Excellence in public sector ethics.

The compliance position is responsible for matters in relation to responsibilities of the Office of the Integrity Commissioner, including disclosure of wrongdoing, lobbyist registration and other mandates as required.

What You Will Do

You will act with integrity to:

  • Perform activities related to the Commissioner's duties in the Disclosure of Wrongdoing framework under Part VI of the _Public Service of Ontario Act, 2006_
  • Assist with the resolution of issues from public servants, including the drafting of compliance letters
  • Prepare complex assessments under the _Lobbyists Registration Act, 1998_ to ensure compliance by lobbyists
  • Under the _Lobbyists Registration Act, Public Service of Ontario Act, 2006_, and the _Members' Integrity Act_, assist with or conduct investigations into alleged contravention of the acts
  • When applicable, supervise all discloser of wrongdoing frontline operations
  • Prepare internal briefing memoranda and provide operational and policy recommendations to General Counsel and/or the Commissioner where necessary
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, tact, and discretion, often under situations of considerable pressure
  • Work in a fastpaced, multidisciplinary, collegial and collaborative environment

How You Will Qualify

You demonstrate excellence because you have:

  • Sound judgment and strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with Members of Provincial Parliament, disclosers, public servants, witnesses and others
  • Superior analytical and writing skills to assess case files against legislation and prepare thorough case summaries and recommendations
  • Experience exercising discretion in identifying confidential and/or sensitive matters
  • Excellent time and case management skills, enabling you to manage multiple files
  • Knowledge of Ontario and Canadian politics, and legislative and governmental structures and processes
