What is the opportunity?

You will partner with IT and assigned HR and Payroll business line(s) to work on resolution of incidents through identification of root cause analysis. As a member of our team, you will be involved in establishing consistent processes across all applications we support following the ITIL model. As a team member, you will be continually exploring and assessing options for value-add business solutions that satisfy sponsor/stakeholder needs.

What will you do?

• Provide primary support for the SAP HR and Payroll module, this includes all aspects of the payroll processing function.
• Analyzes incidents, determines root cause and recommends solution for quick restoration of service.
• Documents problem resolution procedures to assist in resolution of future events.
• Communicates directly with impacted business partners during critical incidents until resolution or a satisfactory workaround is in place.
• Participates in streamlining initiatives with respect to Incident and Problem Management.
• Identifies solutions and recommends technical changes when application performance is impacted by incidents.
• Participates in review of Problem Resolution Procedures and Implementation Plans for all development initiatives.
• Provides assistance to development initiatives in the setup of operational processes.
• Contributes to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
• Provides implementation and post-implementation support.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• Solid understanding of the SAP Payroll schema, SAP Dynamic Actions, SAP Features.
• Hands on experience solving complex payroll changes, including retro-active payroll processing, payroll splits, financial mappings, GL postings and Third Party Remittance.
• Familiarity with Canadian and US payroll rules and legislation.
• Expertise with other SAP modules that impact payroll (PA, PD, Time, Benefits, Compensation, Finance).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, or as the supporting TSA on capital projects and Operations & Maintenance efforts for multiple client areas. Experience working in and/or leading multi-disciplinary work teams/groups.
• Adherence to ITIL Processes in Incident, Problem and Service Management
• Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and interface groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
• Fast learner with strong soft skills for relationship management with various stakeholders

Nice-to-have:

• SAP HR Academy Accreditation
• Working knowledge of ABAP
• Experience on SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP NWDS and SAP Portal ITS
• Experience with SAP tools (e.g. email notifications, workflow, portal)
• Technical Knowledge (strongly preferred):
