    Description


    Director of Finance / Corporate ControllerToronto, ON $150,000 - $180,000 base plus 20-25% bonus and great benefitsOur client is a real estate company with a mission to create warm environments for residents.

    They are looking to hire a dedicated Director of Finance to join the growing team. This position will offer the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the lives of residents.

    The Finance Director will be responsible for the completeness and integrity of the financial systems and controls, financial and regulatory reporting, taxation, valuations and financings among other things.

    This is a tremendous opportunity to evolve and manage robust financial processes, lead a team of six and drive cross-functional collaboration at a dynamic company with a great culture.


    Responsibilities:


    Direct and manage the reporting entities' corporate accounting and reporting functions including month end, quarter end, year-end close and external audits to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the financial resultsLead external financial reporting requirements for a growing portfolio of closed & open-ended funds, as well as the preparation of materials for the Board of Directors and annual financial statements and resultsSupport the review of investors reportsLead the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of effective and efficient internal controls and relevant policies for key processes to ensure the integrity of financial reports for all reporting entitiesDevelop, amend and maintain accounting policies, memos, and procedures which may impact financial results and / or presentationManage income tax and HST compliance obligations for the reporting entities and proactively coordinate with the external tax advisorsServe as primary contact and proactively work with the external auditors, lenders, external valuers and CRA to ensure positive outcomesManage external accountants and auditors, annual audit and review processes, support the preparation of tax returns and slipsSupport the CFO on new asset/site acquisition financings, subsequent re-financings, and associated lender reportingWork with the external valuers for valuation of projects for financial reporting or lendersPrepare meaningful financial analysis to provide financial insights for better decision makingHelp maintain a strong operational framework for the Finance group that empowers the team to work in an agile manner; participate in the ongoing evaluation and improvement of related systems, processes and toolsRequirements:CPA designation and university degree in business management, finance or accounting7+ years of experience in finance and accountingSome level of operational finance experienceMust have real estate development experiencePrevious external audit experience is preferredProven experience systems and process optimizationHow to ApplyWe would like to thank all applicants for your interest in working as part of our team.
