    Description

    Starlight Investments, in collaboration with WP Osborne Executive Search, is looking for a Director, Finance to join their Finance team.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage accounting operations including detailed review of journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial statements.
    • Review intercompany reconciliations completed by the Corporate Finance accounting team.
    • Review revenue and charge-back invoices.
    • Approve various bank and credit card transactions, purchase orders, invoices, and other corporate expenses.
    • Review reconciliation of corporate credit cards.
    • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results for the Starlight Asset Management Group of entities.
    • Assist in the preparation of tax returns (Canadian) completed by tax advisors.
    • Generate financial information for quarterly and annual reports.
    • Prepare and present monthly cash flow analysis.
    • Prepare quarterly and annual debt covenant reporting to financial institutions.
    • Lead corporate budgeting process and present the corporate budget to senior management.
    • Provide variance to budget analysis to senior management.
    • Lead a team of 2 to 5 staff and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Continuously improve accounting practices and policies.
    • Assist Vice President of Finance with special projects.

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will have a University Degree in Business, Accounting or related field, a professional accounting designation, experience leading a finance team, and excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office and advanced Excel skills are required.

    The environment is dynamic, and the individual must be willing to be hands-on.
