    Job Title: Account Manager at Industrial Distributor

    Position Summary:

    As an Account Manager, you will drive positive sales growth within a specific geographical area or vertical market, managing an average of 40-45 current accounts and generating an average of $2 million in annual revenue. Utilize Grainger's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, Salesforce, to handle various aspects of daily business operations. You will report to the District Sales Manager.

    Job Responsibilities (You Will):

    • Comprehend customer objectives and promptly adapt to changing customer requirements
    • Demonstrate awareness of market data and access resources to quickly respond to new developments in customers' businesses
    • Supervise managed inventory tasks to enhance customer understanding, expand contacts within customer groups, and boost sales outcomes
    • Understand Grainger's Value Proposition by offering solutions to drive profitable sales growth
    • Develop strategies to penetrate accounts, including conducting regular business reviews for key customers

    Education/Experience (You Have):

    • Minimum of 2 years of direct outside sales experience (or equivalent inside sales or marketing experience)
    • Proficiency in sales forecasting, opportunity management, and customer planning
    • Travel required to visit each customer within the assigned market at least once per month, or more frequently where necessary
    • Strong process discipline, ability to align planning goals with pipeline development processes to increase market revenue
    • Capability to leverage the sales process to address customer objections/concerns and identify suitable solutions
    • High School diploma or equivalent required (Post-Secondary education preferred)

    This role may entail visiting customers' sites and adhering to safety regulations regarding the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on specific customer premises. Safety requirements may include wearing protective gear such as a hard hat, steel-toed boots, and complying with facial hair guidelines to wear required PPE.

    Some customers may have policies regarding alcohol and drug screening for on-site contractors and vendors. You may need to undergo customer screening procedures when requested.
