SUMMARY

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire
Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill, who will be reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor on the weekend days shift, as the Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill, you will produce aircraft parts to drawing while operating machines in the cell.

Work Shift:
Weekend Days Shift - Friday - Sunday - 3x12, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

This position is On site role at Oakville Facility, Ontario - Canada

Relocation allowance will not be provided

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform own manual setups by positioning and aligning tooling per setup instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and selfinspection (OSV-Operator Self Verification).
Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets(PDS) as required.
Perform work from setup sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of current Boring Mill machining experience.
Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
Willing to multitask as required.
Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
Willingness to train and operate other machines in the cell and willingness to work overtime
