SUMMARY


Collins Aerospace is looking to hire
Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill, who will be reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor on the weekend days shift, as the Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill, you will produce aircraft parts to drawing while operating machines in the cell.


Work Shift:
Weekend Days Shift - Friday - Sunday - 3x12, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM


This position is On site role at Oakville Facility, Ontario - Canada

Relocation allowance will not be provided

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform own manual setups by positioning and aligning tooling per setup instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
  • Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and selfinspection (OSV-Operator Self Verification).
  • Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets(PDS) as required.
  • Perform work from setup sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
  • Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of current Boring Mill machining experience.
  • Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
  • Willing to multitask as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Willingness to train and operate other machines in the cell and willingness to work overtime
